Lesson Plan

I was looking at what is due for next week and I am hoping to start on my lesson plan today. After looking at our concept map does anyone have an issue if I write mine about why growing vegetables is healthier? Let me know. :)

  1. That is fine with me. I think I would like to do garden terms and focus on photosynthesis. Okay with everyone?

  2. Yup that's fine, I've only briefly looked at it so I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but I'll let you know what I decide. Obviously something other than what you've chosen .

  3. Okay so looks like since we only have 3 sub topics by default I'll be doing what vegetables to grow. I'm not exactly sure where I'll be going with that subject but I'm thinking a study of climate, and what types of vegetables grow in what regions. There is a part in the instructions for this assignment that mentions safe surfing

integration of Safe Surfing on the Web into lesson plan (this could be an introduction or a review, depending on where your lesson plan falls in the whole "unit")

So I'm wondering what order our lessons would be as a unit. I was thinking since I'm doing the part about what vegetables, mine would be first and I would introduce the safe surfing, and then the topic on garden terms would be next, and then why gardening is important. It just seems like the most logical order to me but let me know what you think

  4. That seems very logical to me also. You will be first, mine second and Katie's will be last. If you look at the example that she has provided, it appears that we are doing lessons ( a unit) for a week? Is that how you see it? Or, are we each doing a lesson for a day?

  5. I agree with the order in which we should present our lessons. If we are doing the unit for the week wouldn't the lessons just be taught one a day?

  6. I emailed Dr. Peterson and this is what she said.. You are to create a lesson plan that fits in your whole project (unit). Each of you will create a different lesson that includes students researching for information (a lot of research is involved in PBL) and then they will create something from that information. No one should be creating a unit plan right now. Hope this helps.
